I recently took a bad fall and had multiple serious injuries. Since one of them was a spine injury, I was placed in the neurology wing of the hospital. I also had a broken elbow, ribs & pelvis, which were extremely painful, but because so many of the patients in my wing had nerve damage as a result of their injuries, I didn’t have a doctor that paid attention to my pain management needs. I had been assigned other doctors, but they were in other areas of the large and spread-out hospital and there didn’t seem to be good communication among departments.
