Filling out extensive paperwork while squirting blood? pretty uncivilized

I’ll never forget when my Uncle Billy cut his head open. It was Thanksgiving, we were all playing football in the backyard. He went out for a pass and ran straight into a tree! When we all stopped laughing, we realized that his head was bleeding. Of course, we rushed him to the hospital. I will never forget how he was made to fill out extensive paperwork while his head was squirting blood all over the place. It was ridiculous! Luckily, he had health insurance, but it seemed so uncivilized to put the money first and health after.
